Camping

We just got back from camping at the Manchester, CA KOA. It was wonderful spending lots of time together outside with no electronics! We met people from as far away as Washington and even Germany!
For the first part of our trip we stayed in a two room cabin that had no sink or bathroom. This was a little rough as the bathroom access wasn't close. I was much happier when we spent the last two nights in an RV that the campsite rents out. We made lots of trips to the beach and enjoyed the cooler weather. 100 degree weather gets old very fast. The temps in Manchester were in the 65 to 75 degree range during the day.
DS1 and DH did some fishing from the pier in Point Arena. They didn't catch anything but they met a lot of nice guys that shared bait and gave them tips.
My favorite thing about going to Manchester is that there aren't a million people around, it's a very small town. There are wide open beautiful spaces which are hard to come by in the part of CA we live in. I am praying that we can go back next summer.

The garden is a growin'.

The garden is great this year! DH and the kids planted the seeds right in the ground as opposed to sprouting the seeds first. I was skeptical that anything would grow. This summer we had an unusual amount of rain right after the seeds were planted and it helped the seeds to sprout and grow like crazy. We've had lots of green beans and cucumbers so far. We are really looking forward to the corn and watermelon.
